How to Provision Webmail Accounts

Webmail Provisioning Guide



Before you can provision email accounts, Sharpschool needs to setup your specified domain name (@youremail.com) and a user account is mandatory.




1. Login as an Administrator

2. On the gray toolbar, click on Administration-->System Administration
3. Under Safe Mail, click on Email Provisioning Wizard

On the Step1: Select the provisioning method window

Choose if you want to:

    A:  Create mailboxes for all users

    1.  Email address naming rule:  choose what the first part of the email address. Example: user is  John Smith, you chose firstname.lastname. It will become john.smith@youremailadd.com

    2. Password Option:  Only used for Outlook and mail forwarding purposes since any user can access their email once logged in to the site.

Tip: type in a generic password so it's easy to remember.

    3. Mailbox Size: leave alone

    4. Overwrite users' profile email address: check if you want to overwrite the email address that is in the profile of the user account.

    - Click Next, you will see all the accounts that will be provisioned, click Next again and you will see the Screen Name, Mail Address, Password, and Status.

   Note: The user can now login and use the webmail interface which is accessed by adding /webmail after your url: (Example: http://www.yoursitename.com becomes http://www.yoursitename.com/webmail) Also, An Administrator can simply add a published link or link anywhere on your site for this.

    B:  Create mailboxes for the selected user(s)/group(s)

    1. Click on Add, A window will open, select your Users or Groups, click Add on the middle right, (you will now see them Under Selected Groups and Users), click OK on the bottom right. The accounts will now appear under Check/Uncheck All

    2. Email address naming rule:  choose what the first part of the email address. Example: user is  John Smith, you chose firstname.lastname. It will become john.smith@youremailadd.com
